BIOGRAPHY

Born to a sex therapist and a Secret Service Agent in Oklahoma City, Susan’s career in comedy was inevitable. Susan is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater Film & Television. She has studied acting with the late, great Uta Hagen and in Howard Fine‘s Master Class. Susan’s original one-woman show, This Is Your Wake-Up Call! (click here), at The Lost Studio, The Coast Playhouse, and the HBO Workspace earned LA Weekly’s “Pick of the Week” and Dramalogue’s “Critic’s Choice.”

Susan starred in the World Premier of Del Shores' play, "Yellow" at The Coast Playhouse and received an Ovation Nomination as Best Featured Actress and a Garland Award for Best Ensemble.  She also starred in Del Shores' play, "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" at the Zephyr Theatre in Hollywood playing the role of trashy cocktail waitress, "Rayleen Hobbs."  The play won an Ovation Award for "Best Ensemble."  Del Shores also cast her as "Dr. Eve" in "Sordid Lives" and as "Brother Boy" in "Sordid Lives, It's a Drag" and is recurring as crazy "Jackie" in "Sordid Lives: The Series."

Susan has graced the stage and screen with some amazing actors such as: Hilary Swank, Kristen Chenowith, Danny DeVito, Lyle Lovett, Lisa Kudrow, Laurie Metcalf, Debra Messing, Helen Hunt, Teri Hatcher, Megan Mullaly, Matt LeBlanc, Jay Mohr, Faith Ford, Leslie Jordan, Beth Grant, Drew Carey, Garry Shandling, Jeffrey Tambor, Rip Torn, Treat Williams, & John Goodman, among others.

Some television credits include: Mad Men, Glee, I'ts Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sordid Lives, Gary Unmarried, Easy Money, Bones, Joey, Rodney, All of Us, Gilmore Girls, Will & Grace, L.A. Dragnet, Haunted, The O'Keefe's, The George Lopez Show, Drew Carey, Normal,Ohio, SportsNight, Beverly Hills, 90210, The Larry Sanders Show, Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, Mad About You, Seinfeld, NewsRadio, Third Rock from the Sun, and Murder She Wrote. She appeared opposite Joanna Cassidy in Intermission (click here), in The Sleepwalker Killing with Hilary Swank and she can be seen flirting with Lyle Lovett in the feature, The Opposite of Sex.

Susan was also a finalist in "15 Minutes of Fem 3" (click here) a one-person show contest at The Egyptian Arena Theatre.  In addition to performing stand-up comedy, she has studied and performed with The Second City and had a six year run with the improvisational company, Los Angeles TheatreSports at Theater/Theatre.

Additional Los Angeles stage credits include: Crimes of The Heart directed by Garry Marshall with Faith Ford and Crystal Bernard at the Falcon Theater, ISSP at the Pacific Design Center, The Lotto at The Century City Playhouse, The Werewolf Project at The Los Angeles Theater Center, Cross Your Legs at Ma Maison, and Scratch N Sniff at The Ice House - "Comedy Pick of the Week."  In addition, Susan has performed several of her original essays in "Pen to Paper" at the Pacific Resident Theatre.

As a writer, Susan's essay was published in "Virgin Territory: Stories from the Road to Womanhood".  She has written for the Saturday morning animated program, "The Weekenders", and writes content for several websites.

Susan is a proud mom and has been a volunteer Big Sister with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Los Angeles since 1997.
