ALL IN THE FAMILY

Born to a sex therapist and a Secret Service Agent in Oklahoma City, Susan’s career in comedy was inevitable.    

EDUCATION

Susan is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater Film & Television. She has studied acting with the late, great Uta Hagen (Master Class) and the current-great, Howard Fine (Master Class).

DEL SHORES

Susan has a long history with famed writer/director, Del Shores. Del wrote the part of Sister Timothea for Susan and she starred in the World Premier of, "Yellow" at The Coast Playhouse. She received an Ovation Nomination as Best Featured Actress, a Garland Award, and an LA Weekly Award.  She also starred in Del's play, "The Assembly Line" for the Family Equality Council. She also appeared in Del Shores' play, "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife" at the Zephyr Theatre in Hollywood playing the role of trashy cocktail waitress, "Rayleen Hobbs."  The play won an Ovation Award for "Best Ensemble."  Del Shores also cast her as "Dr. Eve" in "Sordid Lives" (Season of Shores) and as "Brother Boy" in "Sordid Lives, It's a Drag". Susan is recurring as crazy "Jackie" in "Sordid Lives: The Series" on Logo. 

THEATER

In addition to Del Shores' theater (see above), Susan’s original one-woman show, This Is Your Wake-Up Call! (click here), at The Lost Studio, The Coast Playhouse, and the HBO Workspace earned LA Weekly’s “Pick of the Week” and Dramalogue’s “Critic’s Choice.” Additional Los Angeles stage credits include: Crimes of The Heart directed by Garry Marshall with Faith Ford and Crystal Bernard at the Falcon Theater, ISSP at the Pacific Design Center, The Lotto at The Century City Playhouse, The Werewolf Project at The Los Angeles Theater Center. Susan was also a finalist in "15 Minutes of Fem 3" (click here) a one-person show contest at The Egyptian Arena Theatre. 

VOICE OVER

In addition to performing stand-up comedy, she has studied and performed with The Second City and had a six year run with the improvisational company, Los Angeles TheatreSports at Theater/Theatre. Susan was also a sketch comedy performer/writer in Cross Your Legs at Ma Maison and Scratch N Sniff at The Ice House (Comedy Pick of the Week). 

WRITER

As a writer, Susan's essay was published in the book, "Virgin Territory: Stories from the Road to Womanhood".  She has written for the Saturday morning animated program, "The Weekenders", writes content for several websites, and has written and performed in storytelling shows across Los Angeles, including "Pen to Paper" at Pacific Resident Theatre and "Word Now" at the Freemont Theater.

TEACHER

Susan has taught scene study and monologue technique at Deborah Gibson's Camp Electric Youth and has taught Acting Technique for Teenagers at Andromeda Studios. She coaches for tv/film auditions, college auditions, and has been a speaker and mentor for seminars on "How to Break Into the Entertainment Business".  Susan is a mom and specializes in acting for kids/teens. Susan has been a volunteer Big Sister with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Los Angeles since 1997. Her "Little Sister" is a graduate of UCLA and has a successful career in business.
